Ouch! When I was there they threatened to eject us from the game, but that never happened, even when the students started throwing a dead octopus and fish. It was unbelievably gross and had absolutely nothing to do with the fun of throwing marshmellows at each other. Neither does planting rocks or coins in the spongy things, unless you’re throwing it at the USC band. 😉
In all seriousness, I never throught the administration would get serious about the situation, but seeing how ugly its gotten, I don’t blame them. At the same time, don’t kill the marshmellow tradition. Especially when USC and their stupid band is involved. After hearing their fight song played over and over and over again, you really can’t blame us Domers, ahem former now Alumni. My row, we hit a few of them too when they lined up after their performance at halftime in ’99. It was sweet, and we beat them too.
Let’s not mention Saturday.
