Today I canceled my trip back home because my reservation from a week ago was too early.  So I called, canceled, and took the regular bus home.  The disABLED ride free.<\/p>\n<p>The curb cuts on the way to the bus stop were blocked off.  Maybe the city was planning on repaving?  Thank goodness it wasn&#8217;t raining.<\/p>\n<p>The ADA turns 20 today.  The media hardly mentioned it.  If you looked at the &#8216;Health&#8217; section on CNN.com there was a blurb there.  MSNBC.com had an article under their &#8216;Business&#8217; section.  So we&#8217;re sickly and expensive.  <\/p>\n<p>Yet in the past few months my clients have shaken my hand, hugged me, and recommended me to their friends because I seem to not fit in that stereotype.  You know the one.  <\/p>\n<p>So Happy Birthday, ADA.  Maybe in another 20 years we can safely have babies, and hold steady jobs without laughable paychecks.
